Biography

Wong Kong-Yu studied music compositions at different music institutes in Guangzhou, Beijing and Hong Kong. He earned his PhD at the University of York in England. His music for various forces has been performed in Hong Kong and aboard. Performers of his works included Hong Kong’s Children’s Choir, Hong Kong Youth Choir, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, among the others. Besides composing he has been teaching music theory courses at different universities in the mainland, a number of his music and theoretical writings have been published there. Wong’s instrument is piano and he has obtained a Trinity ATCL in performance.

王廣宇在廣州、北京及香港的多间院校學習作曲。他獲得英國約克大學哲學博士學位。他為多種組合創作的音樂在香港及海外演出。曾演出過他的作品的團體包括香港兒童合唱團、香港青年合唱團、香港中樂團、竹韻小集等。他曾在多間大學講授音樂理論課程，發表過一批作品及論文。王廣宇獲得聖三一學院的鋼琴演奏文憑(ATCL)。
